Iron deposits that are embedded in white marble tile especially carrara marble are typically the cause of this type of stain. As the water evaporates it moves to the surface carrying the rust with it creating a rust stain.

The process of making a marble poultice is very important considering that most of the stains can be removed. If these deposits are exposed to water they can rust and leach through to the surface causing the yellow brown stains. When water is cyclically applied to carrara marble the water will penetrate the marble surface time and time again. Marble is not very absorbent so it does not stain easily.

You can use a cleaner specifically meant for marble or store bought detergent. A marble stain is when a substance is absorbed into the pores of the marble. Remove more difficult stains and water spots with a thick paste of baking soda and water. Rust stains carrara marble contains little bits of iron.

Clean the marble with warm water and detergent. Combine the required solvent with water or baking soda. A yellow brownish stain has begun to appear on the marble bench slab. Rub the paste into the stain with a soft cloth.

Depending on what the specific stain is the solvent can be 6 percent hydrogen. It started out faint has gotten brighter and appears to be growing. Don t use soap as it is fat based and can cause the stone to darken. Rust stains are yellow brown stains.

In situations where the carrara marble is constantly exposed to water the water can absorb and oxidize the iron so it rusts.
